DEAD - MRS H W Swan
Mrs. H. W. Swan died at the family residence in this city, Monday and was buried in Odd Fellows cemetery Wednesday afternoon of this week. Mrs. Swan has been a sufferer for years with stomach trouble, but only recently was her conditions considered serious, in fact only a few of the most intimate friends knew of her illness, and the announcement of her death came as a shock to the community. The funeral was announced for 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, but was postponed until 4, awaiting the arrival of her sister from East St. Louis. The services were held in the Presbyterian church of which Mrs. Swan was a member, and was conducted by Rev. M. D. Early, of the Baptist church, the pastor of the Presbyterian church. Rev. Barrier being ill at the time. Mrs. Swan was an excellent lady, popular in church lodge and social circles, and will be greatly missed by a large circle of admiring friends.
SWAN-Died, at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug.21, 1906, Sadie A., beloved wife of H.W. Swan, at their home on west Oklahoma avenue, after a short illness from a complication of diseases. Her maiden name was Jones and she was about 45 years old. She was married to Mr. Swan at New Lancaster, Kansas, Dec. 31, 1885, and they have lived here since 1893. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and of the Fraternal Aid association, which latter organization had charge of the funeral service, which occurred at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. M.D. Early of the Baptist church.
