Kay County Pioneer Registration
The Pioneer Certificate project was created to honor the pioneers who made the run on September 16, 1893 into the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma Territory or settled in Kay County before 1907-statehood.
Pioneer registration may be made by sending a completed registration form to the address on the application. Copies of documents to authenticate the registration may be attached and will be included in the current collection located in the Ponca City Library’s archive room. Registration is free, however you may wish to purchase a Kay County Pioneer Certificate for display.
Documents offered as proof may include homestead patents, land records, marriage records, census records, newspaper articles, family bible records, personal letters documenting participation. [Copies only, Please do not send originals, as these cannot be returned] Registration is free.
